But a historic settlement \u2014 reached between Fair Share Housing Center, the Latino Action Network, the NAACP New Jersey State Conference and the State of New Jersey \u2014 reallocated critical resources to marginalized communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At last night\u2019s event, the original groups that filed the complaint \u2014 as well as storm survivors \u2014 reflected on the importance of that action, the progress that has been made since, and the need for additional civil rights advocacy in the disaster recovery system.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Watch yesterday\u2019s panel discussion: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/FairHousingFairRecoveryMay29\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>https:\/\/bit.ly\/FairHousingFairRecoveryMay29<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event was accompanied by the release of a new report published by Fair Share Housing Center, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fairsharehousing.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Hurricane-Sandy-and-New-Jerseys-Fight-for-Equitable-Disaster-Relief.pdf\"><em>Hurricane Sandy and New Jersey\u2019s Fight For Equitable Disaster Relief<\/em><\/a>.&nbsp;
